The Basics
What Is a Vinyl Liner Pool?
A vinyl liner pool uses structural steel or polymer panels with a custom-formed base, finished with a single-piece vinyl liner that holds the water. The liner is the interior surface you see and touch. It comes in dozens of patterns and colors — from stone textures and geometric designs to deep ocean blues and neutral modern finishes — and is built to last 10 to 15 years before replacement.
The structure underneath is permanent. The liner is replaceable, at a fraction of what it costs to resurface a gunite pool.
Vinyl liners range from 20 to 30 mils in thickness. Silverado Rock installs 28-mil liners as standard. Thicker liners resist punctures better, hold up longer under heavy use, and are less vulnerable to the UV intensity and temperature swings that Oklahoma summers deliver. Liner thickness is one of the details worth asking every builder about before you sign.
Vinyl pools offer more design flexibility than most homeowners expect. Custom shapes, tanning ledges, bench seating, steps, and water features are all possible. They go in faster than gunite and cost less without sacrificing performance when the hydraulics, equipment, and concrete work are done correctly.

What's Included in Every Silverado Rock Vinyl Pool
These are not upgrades. Every vinyl pool we build includes the site evaluation, 3D design, permit handling, and the plumbing and equipment decisions that determine what your pool actually costs to run.
Pricing
What Does Vinyl Pool Installation Cost in Tulsa?
Most completed vinyl pool installations in the Tulsa area run between $45,000 and $75,000.
That's total project cost. Here's what makes up that number:
What moves the price up: larger pool size, stamped or decorative concrete, water features, and site conditions like slope, clay soil depth, or limited equipment access.
What keeps it accurate: a real site evaluation before design starts, so there are no surprise change orders mid-build.
Financing Available
Most Tulsa homeowners don't pay for the entire pool upfront.
Why Silverado Rock
Why Tulsa Homeowners Choose Silverado Rock
Licensed and insured. Serving the Tulsa area for over 15 years.
We run pools for under $12 a month in electricity.
The average Tulsa pool costs $150 to $200 per month to run. Ours run for under $12. That comes from low-restriction sweep-90 plumbing and variable speed pumps programmed to your pool's specific volume — decisions made during the build that most contractors never think about.
We place your skimmer where Oklahoma wind actually blows.
Oklahoma wind moves from southeast to northwest about 80% of the time. We position your skimmer on the northwest side so the wind pushes debris toward it. Less work for you. Cleaner pool.
Our concrete crew has built pool decks for 15 years.
Cantilevered edges, zero standing water, pool lids standard on every project. Same crew, every build.
You see your pool in 3D before we file a permit.
We design in professional rendering software. You share it with your family, your HOA, and anyone who needs to weigh in — before anything gets built.
We handle every permit in every city we serve.
Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Bixby, Jenks, Owasso — each city has its own application, its own requirements, and its own timeline. We know all of them and manage the process completely.
“Jason was upfront about everything from day one. We knew exactly what we were getting before they broke ground.”

Questions
Vinyl Pool Installation FAQ — Tulsa, OK
How much does vinyl pool installation cost in Tulsa?
Most completed vinyl pool installations in the Tulsa area run between $45,000 and $75,000. That includes the pool shell, liner, equipment, plumbing, and concrete coping and decking. The pool shell alone is not the number to budget around — the finished project is. Financing is available for qualified homeowners.
How long does vinyl pool installation take?
From permit approval to finished pool, most vinyl installations take 4 to 6 weeks. The physical build moves quickly once permits are in hand. Permit timelines vary by city: Tulsa processes faster, Broken Arrow typically takes about two weeks, and Bixby can take two to three weeks. We build all of this into the project schedule.
What foundation is needed for a vinyl liner pool?
Vinyl liner pools are built on structural steel or polymer panels that form the walls and a base layer of vermiculite or concrete that shapes the pool floor. Proper base preparation determines how the liner fits, how the pool drains, and how the structure holds up over time. In Tulsa, clay soil conditions can affect base compaction and drainage planning. We assess all of this during the site evaluation before design begins.
What liner thickness does Silverado Rock use?
We install 28-mil vinyl liners as standard. Most entry-level pool builds use 20-mil liners. The extra thickness provides better puncture resistance, handles the UV exposure and heat of Oklahoma summers more effectively, and simply lasts longer. It is one of the questions worth asking any pool builder you are considering.
What equipment does a Silverado Rock vinyl pool include?
Every installation includes a variable speed pump programmed to your specific pool volume and utility rate, a filter system sized correctly for your pool, flow meters calibrated to your plumbing layout, and all necessary plumbing and electrical work. We do not install one-speed motors or leave the pump on a default setting. The equipment package is designed around how your pool will actually run — not just what gets it filled and circulating.
What questions should I ask a vinyl pool contractor before hiring?
How do you design the plumbing, and do you use sweep 90s or standard fittings? What pump are you installing, and what RPM will you program it to run at? Do you pressure test the plumbing before you backfill? Who does your concrete work and have they done cantilevered pool edges before? Will you handle the permits, or is that on us? Do you do a 3D design before filing permits? Any builder who cannot answer these questions directly and specifically is telling you something important.
What permits are required for vinyl pool installation in Tulsa?
Every city in the Tulsa area requires a permit for inground pool construction, and each has its own application requirements. Most require a site or plot plan showing the pool location, setback distances from property lines and structures, and sometimes the footprint of the home. Silverado Rock handles permit filing for every project we build in Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Bixby, Jenks, Owasso, and Glenpool.
How long does a vinyl liner last?
10 to 15 years with proper water chemistry and maintenance. Oklahoma sun is hard on liners when water chemistry is allowed to drift, which is why we cover chemistry management in detail during pool school before we leave.
What does liner replacement cost?
Between $3,500 and $6,000 depending on pool size and liner pattern. It takes one to two days.
Can I add a waterfall or tanning ledge to a vinyl pool?
Yes. Tanning ledges, steps, bench seating, and water features are all compatible with vinyl pool construction. We will tell you clearly which features work well in vinyl and which are better suited to a gunite build when we review your wishlist.
What maintenance does a vinyl liner pool require?
Weekly water chemistry testing and balancing, regular skimmer and filter cleaning, and seasonal startup and close-down. Oklahoma pools typically require closer attention during peak summer months when heat and sun intensity put more demand on water chemistry. We cover all of this at pool school on close-out day.
