Years in Pools

The Story

Built on precision. Rooted in Tulsa.

Before Jason built his first pool, he spent four years as a Senior MWD Engineer — Measurement While Drilling — working across Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and North Dakota. That work demanded an obsessive level of precision. You don't get second chances when you're working a drill string thousands of feet underground.

He brought that mindset into the pool industry in 2015, starting in sales and installation before becoming General Manager at Aqua Haven — where he spent seven years overseeing projects across the Tulsa metro. In 2017, he launched Cherry Pools LLC — building a reputation in Tulsa for vinyl, fiberglass, and gunite pool installs done right. As the projects got bigger and the scope expanded beyond pools into natural rock features, outdoor kitchens, and full backyard builds, Silverado Rock Pools became the brand that matched the work he was actually doing.

Jason has built pools in every kind of Tulsa backyard — narrow urban lots, sloped South Tulsa terrain, caliche that breaks equipment, and the expansive clay that swallows lesser builds whole. He's studied Oklahoma soil the way most builders never bother to. And he's spent years mastering water chemistry because he believes the job isn't done when the water goes in — it's done when you know how to keep it right.

“I've built pools in every kind of backyard Tulsa has. There's always a solution — you just have to know where to look.”

— Jason Cherry, Owner

The Consultation

How Jason Helps You Make the Right Call for Your Yard

Jason's job isn't to sell you a pool. It's to help you figure out what actually makes sense for your yard, your budget, and the way you plan to use it — then build it right.

He reads your site first.

Before Jason recommends anything, he walks your yard. Soil type, slope, drainage, utility easements, HOA setbacks, yard access — all of it shapes what can be built and how. Most problems that blow up mid-project were visible on day one if you knew where to look.

He tells you which material actually fits.

Vinyl, fiberglass, or gunite — the right answer depends on your budget, timeline, soil conditions, and how much long-term maintenance you're willing to do. Jason has built all three extensively in Tulsa. He'll give you a straight comparison, not a pitch for whatever has the best margin.

He sets you up to maintain it yourself.

Water chemistry isn't complicated once someone explains it properly. Jason walks every new pool owner through pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, and sanitization — so you're not calling a service company every week or chasing problems all summer because nobody showed you the basics.

He aligns the build to your budget.

A larger pool isn't always a better pool. Jason helps you understand what you're actually getting at each price point — where spending more matters, where it doesn't, and which upgrades will change how you use the pool versus which ones just look good in the quote.

Areas of Expertise

What Jason Knows Cold

Vinyl Liner Pools

The most affordable entry point into pool ownership. Jason understands liner grades, frame construction, and how to get maximum lifespan out of a vinyl build in Oklahoma's climate — and he'll tell you honestly when vinyl makes sense and when it doesn't.

Fiberglass Pools

Factory-molded shells that go in fast and stay clean. Jason has installed fiberglass pools across Tulsa's varied terrain and knows which manufacturers build shells that hold up to Oklahoma's freeze-thaw cycles — and which ones don't.

Gunite Construction

The most durable pool type for Tulsa's expansive clay soil. Jason engineers every gunite build for the specific site — rebar spacing, shotcrete mix, bond beam reinforcement — because what works in Phoenix doesn't necessarily work in Oklahoma.

Water Chemistry & pH

Most pool problems aren't structural — they're chemical. Jason has spent years studying water balance, alkalinity, calcium hardness, and sanitization. He'll teach you how to keep your water right the first time instead of chasing problems all summer.

Oklahoma Soil & Site Assessment

Tulsa's clay expands and contracts with moisture. Hard caliche, sandstone, and drainage issues can all affect a pool build. Jason reads a site before he touches it — identifying problems before they become expensive surprises mid-project.

Pool Equipment & Automation

From variable-speed pumps to Hayward OMNI automation, Jason specs equipment that's right-sized for each pool — not oversized to inflate the ticket. He also knows how to keep it running after the build is done.
